We are having an issue with partitioning when running our workflows (PowerCenter 8.1). Only a few of our mappings seems to fail with the following error message:
node01_DEV MAPPING TM_6281 ERROR: Partitioning option license required to run sessions with user-defined partition points.
node01_DEV MAPPING TM_6006 Error initializing DTM for session...
It seems to be happening whenever a mapping is using a Union transformation i.e. PowerCenter seems to automatically try to load the target using partitions.
The issue is that we did not purchase the Partition option so I cannot access the Partition tab in the session properties. Session option Dynamic partitioning is set to No. Union transformation Is Partitionable option is set to No. I tried to delete and recreate the session task but it seems to be a default behaviour.
I saw on the INFA forum that there was a similar bug logged for version 7 & 8 with the Aggregator transformation and the following workaround:
Add a new Custom Property to the Integration Service:
Is there a similar workaround for the Union transformation?
Please let me know if I missed anything obvious.
Thanks in advance,
FYI - I contacted Support and the issue is known as bug 106294.
In the Union transformation, Properties tab, even if you set Is Partitionable to No, if the Requires Single Thread Per Partition option is checked, PowerCenter will still check for the Partitioning license.
Workaround is to un-check the option + recreate the session task.
