Given below is my system configuration
1.Microsoft Windows Xp +SP3
2.Interner Explorer 8
3.Informatica Powercenter 8.6.0 Hotfix 4
4.Oracle 10 G Express Edition
I want to know how email task can be configured in informatica so that at the end of a workflow,I can add an email task
I don't use Outlook for sending/receiving emails and like to receive email in hotmail/gmail(web email)
Please let me know what all settings need to be added in the admin console
Do I need to install Microsoft IIS Server or some other HTTP server for configuring the email task
Any response for this is highly appreciable

It depends on your Server machine configuration. It is the PowerCenter server machine that will send e-mails. Is your server Win XP?
1. If your server is on Windows, you can use Outlook or Lotus notes client used on that machine.
2. If it is non Windows, you can use something like rmail to send e-mail.
