    Informatica server on Windows 7

Yes, It is possible to install informatica server on windows 7.

Things to keep in mind:-Informatica PowerCenter 8.6.0 is  not compatible with Windows 7. If you just install the server, you won’t  be able to run it in most of the case.

Solution:- Add server bin directory to PATH variable of your computer.

    If installation directory is C:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.6.0

path of bin directory will be C:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.6.0\server\bin

You need to add this value in PATH variable.

You need to change the compatibility mode to Windows XP as well.

Right click on install.exe –> Compatibility tab –> Check box for  Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3) and run the installer.exe as Administrator.

Now rest of the things will be easier same as like installation on windows xp.

    Hope this info help you.

Are you installing on a windows 7 home edition or professional ?

You should be able to run informatica on windows 7. I have a copy of informatica 8.6 and 9.0 running on windows 7 ultimate with no problems.
