I am scheduling a bulk of jobs through scheduler. When jobs are triggered few of the jobs goes into sleep mode. The scheduler shows the status as Running however in Informatica workflow monitor these jobs are not visible. In Unix these jobs goes into Sleep status. These jobs remain in Run status till they are manullay killed and restarted. When the number of jobs being executed at parallel is minimized the issue is reloved but on full load the issue comes randomly on random jobs.
Following scenarios are seen
1. All jobs executed in parallel
All jobs in RUN status imediately in Informatica
2. All jobs executed in parallel
Few jobs goes in RUN status and few waits till completion of running jobs and than go into running status
3. All jobs executed in parallel
Few jobs goes in RUN status and few waits till completion of running jobs and than go into running status. Few Jobs doesnt execute at all. Unix shows status as sleep, scheduler shows status as running
Is this issue of Informatica or Unix. How can this issue be resolved?
I don't know there is Sleep status in Informatica but there is a Waiting Status.
It's because the Informatica server have limit of number of parallel tasks allowed.
If your limit is 100 tasks and your workflow have 120 tasks, 20 tasks will be set to Waiting mode until our task complete and the resource shift.
To resolve this, you can go to Admin Home Page and increase the parallel task limit.
Yes the sleep status is not of informatica its of Unix. Transformations triggered goes into sleep mode in Unix and never get in active mode.
Agree to what Felix said.
However, I have seen that myself, that soemtimes (equally randomly) some of the jobs put in "Waiting" status dont really come back online and become running active on their own.
I would suggest forwarding this to Infomatica support for a look as well.
On the Unix side, there is a limit to no of processes that can be running in parallel. Check that front as well.
