Best way to capture workflow/session log info in DB table

Hi all,

I Have a requirement to capture Session Log and Workflow Log info in couple of DB (Target) tables.

Do you have any best way to do that?

Best way to capture LOG file into DB table?

( Requirement in Detail:-----

  1. What ran (sent to logs)
  2. Where it ran (environment) (sent to logs)
  3. When it ran (sent to logs)
  4. What was processed eg the stats that are provided, records in source, records changed, records updated destination (sent to logs)
  5. Any errors that occurred plus the details (sent to errors)
  6. If it is a data related issue, which record was at fault? (sent to errors))

Let me know

thanks in advance,

    Hi Shiva,

You can log the session log details to a file by enabling the error log type to 'Relational database' under session  config object properties.

This will create four tables PMERR_DATA, PMERR_MSG, PMERR_SESS, PMERR_TRANS  in the relational database which holds all the required details

    Hi Siva,

You can achieve this scenario like this ...

To capture Log file into DB, enable the property in the config object tab in the session property i.e "Error log type".

Choose the option "Relation Database", along with this mention error log DB connection object in the next property.

Once it’s done, 4 tables are created in the database namely:-

PMERR_DATA :- Stores data and metadata about a transformation row error and its corresponding source row.

PMERR_MSG   :- Stores metadata about an error and the error message.
PMERR_SESS  :- Stores metadata about the session.
PMERR_TRANS:- Stores metadata about the source and transformation ports, such as name and data type, when a transformation error occurs.
