We are on 9.5.1, Powerexchange is installed on MVS and on the IS (Unix) already.
We are not sure if we need to install something for enabling ourselves to use powerexchange from clients (e.g. importing a source in designer ). and if we do need, where do I get that software from ?
I understand that while installing the client software, we dont supply any license key infromation, so, how and where would it get the .dll files that it complains about now ?
thanks for ur help in advance,
There should be a 32-bit installation folder that came with the software via the download. This is the client install. It will install the DLLs and the Navigator software which allows you to create data maps and data capture registrations for CDC. The email you received from Informatica providing download information should have given you a permanent Navigator license key.
All PWX installs require a PWX license key.
The nature of the key varies:
PWX Listener license keys require flags for the appropriate source types, and are IP address specific.
PWX Navigator license keys normally don't require flags for the sources, and are IP address agnostic.
PWX license keys for the PWX install on the PC Integration Service box vary; if you are running a PWX Listener there, then the rules for PWX Listener apply; if you are not running a PWX Listener there, then the rules for the PWX Listener don't apply.
PWX Navigator is 32bit Windows software, so it is only included in the 32 bit windows install .zip package.
PWX does need to be installed wherever you are running the PC clients, and the bit version of the PC clients and that PWX install must be the same. That may mean a PWX install that is separate from the PWX Navigator install, if you are using the 64 bit PC clients. It would also need a PWX license key, but it could probably use the one that you have for PWX Navigator.
