static values for targets...

I am trying to find a way to set static values for targets (ie.  sysdate).

I tried a function trasnformation, but I got a "you don't have an input" error on it.

Where do I set values for targets where the values are static:  NULL, SYSDATE, 1, etc...  and I do not need an input link to make them.

    Hi Eculter,

    If ur target is flat file then add FileName column to the target in Target designer(The option "ll be there at right side top corner..when u dbl clk the tgt defination).

    Pull that port into expression.Now u can add Tgt_name_sysdate to that output port.

    However its nt a static changes according to sysdate.

    You have to options to do this:

    1. set the static values as default values in the table itself
    2. in informatica you can do this in Expressions - just set the port as Output only (no input) and give it the value you need.

    I hope this helps.

    1) you can popualte statis values thru expression transformation in informatica but not function transformation

    2) while creating table definition itself you can set default value as sysdate,null for columns u needed. so that default values would get populated when you dont populate any thing thru informatica

    Let me know if any of above options work for u
